Questionable product quality, installation instructions awful!

Looks nice on Jeep. Not sure how secure it is, seems loose. Installation instructions are almost worthless! Product looks nice, but I wouldn't try to use it as a grab bar. If anyone ha any tips on the installation process I'm all ears.I would not buy this again, unless I can be guaranteed it would be secure.
ConsPretty much everything else. Install doesn’t seem very secure. I’ve actually has bars pop off which slightest tug. Instructions are worthless, should not be sold with these instructions.
Great product, garbage instructions

Bars are awesome, no complaints about them whatsoever. Installation instructions leave a LOT to be desired, which sent me to Commander forums to look for help. Lots of comments there ranging from take it to a body shop for the install, to do it yourself, but go out and buy a rivnut tool. Body shops wanted from 1.5-2 hours for the installation and $80-100. Decided to just do this myself with the little installation tool that came with the bars. MUCH easier if you have a second set of hands, but these where completely installed in approx 30 minutes.
ProsCompletes the Limited look on my Commander.
Great looking handles, faulty install tool

Three of the 4 "rivnuts" (that are used to install the handle to the Jeep) installed just fine. Howver, the bolt for the install tool "snapped" while in the 4th aluminum rivnut. I had to drill our the bolt and rivnut. A visit to my local body shop and they installed a rivnut for me since the original was not usable. That was a hassle. Otherwise the install went fine and the handle look very good.
Great item, crap instructions.

When I finally got the grab handles I was excited to install them. I saw the instructions before I saw the product and hardware and thought it seemed pretty straight forward. It showed pics of three tools required to do the job but it did not say what they were. And of course, I didn't own any of them. I had to buy the tools to install the hardware. Wasn't too bad at first. A T27 drill bit a plastic fastener remover. $12 for the two. But the next tool is a rivnut tool. I had to buy one from a website. Cost the same amount as the grab handles. Sure the grab handles come with a DIY tool, a bolt and special locking nut to install these rivnuts but if you've never done this before it's very hard and easy to screw up. The instructions make it look like everything just pops into your car and you're done. Installing rivnuts is not easy even with the proper tool. I wish it had at least listed the tools required instead of just showing three tiny pics. It took a while with Google trying to figure out what the tools were. They're on my car now and look great. Just wish the instructions were more detailed for people who are not full time mechanics.
ProsThey look great on the car. They come very well packed. And at a very good price.
ConsInstructions are not detailed enough. It's one 2 sided page.
Solid. Completes the "Limited" look.

My Limited Edition Commander did not come with the rear grab handles and these completed the look. These are solid as can be. I'm a 235 pound guy and these are able to assist me with climbing on to the rear bumper. Word of advice though- do some research before installing these. Search Google for "jeep commander rear grab handles installation" and you'll find plenty of forum posts on the proper installation. The instructions are missing a crucial step on the proper installation of the crush nuts. The package includes a kit to install the crush nuts to the metal. These are important to create the sturdy bond to the Jeep. Would highly recommend these if your Commander does not have them.
ProsSturdy. Completes the "Limited" look. Easy to install with a little research. No special tools needed.
ConsInstructions are missing the important step of the proper installation of the crush nuts.
